Shorts for Nathan

I have been wanting to make some shorts for nephew Nathan for sometime now. I found this heavy twillish cotton material. I love the red on the boys. I put a drawstring in because Nathan isn't here to try on for size. The pockets turned out a little funny. In fact its possible the whole result is funny. I wasn't using a pattern and was merely guessing at pocket size, crotch size etc. Moreover, the top of the two ply pockets got caught up in the waistband making for some extra stiffness up there. I'm going to make Nathan some animal shorts like I made for Jasper. I think they will be a safer bet. Good thing he's only two. We'll see if they fit.
